Thursday, October 26, 2023, 7 -8:30 pm, Bath Twp Bldg, 1006 Yellow Springs-Fairfield Road, Fairborn

Regional leaders responsible for designing and implementing storm water management in Clark, Greene, and Montgomery counties will discuss the following topics:

-What is a watershed? Which ones do we belong to? What is a Watershed Action Plan?

-Pervious parking areas? Detention ponds – when, where, how designed?

-Roadside gutters – when, where? Local road closures due to flooding

-Why are our waterways brown after a rain? Are there pollutants in storm water?

-Flooding, stream rerouting due to natural causes; Are dams still needed? If so, what type?

-Flooded basements; Is building allowed in a floodplain?

-Role of FEMA; Managing storm water via natural methods, i.e. swales, rain gardens, wetlands?

-Influence of soil types? Riparian corridors?

-Who’s in charge? Tax assessments for surface area, pervious vs impervious?
